Google Pay is a digital wallet platform and online payment system developed by Google to power in-app, online, and in-person contactless purchases enabling users to make payments with Android phones, tablets, or watches.
Users in the United States and India can also get all benefits of Google Pay. In addition to this, the service also supports passes such as coupons, boarding passes, campus ID cards, car keys, event tickets, movie tickets, public transportation tickets, and loyalty cards with many offers, scratch cards, and discounts.
Owing to its benefits, the app has reached every nook and corner of the country. Officially, Google Pay can only be used on one phone at a time. If you try to use the app on another phone using the same credentials, it will automatically log you out from the first phone.
How To Use 2 Google Pay Apps In One Phone Using The Dual Apps Feature
If you are really interested in using two Google Pay apps on one phone there is a trick and you must have two accounts in different banks and both of them have separate registered mobile numbers.
Note that it may work only in some phones that support Dual apps. For using this feature, follow the steps given below.
Step 1 – Go to the Settings in your phone, tap on ‘Apps’ and then select ‘Dual apps’.
Step 2 – Scroll through the list of apps and toggle the bar in front of Google Pay to enable the feature for the app. You will soon receive a notification that the dual version of this app has been created successfully on your phone.
Step 3 – Next, set up your new account by opening the second Google Pay App. Enter the mobile number registered with the other bank account and tap on ‘Next.
[ Note: that you should enter a different mobile number registered with a different bank account ]
Step 4 – Check the Gmail address that you want to associate with the account and again click on ‘Next’.
Step 5 – Google Pay will send you an OTP on your phone; enter the same to verify the phone number linked to the account.
Step 6 – Next, secure your account by using the Google PIN or the Screen Lock. It is very good to use the Google PIN for better security purposes, so tap on ‘Use Google PIN’ in the next window and click on ‘Continue’.
Step 7 – Now add the bank account by entering the card details and create a new UPI PIN. Google pay will send you an OTP to your registered mobile number connected to your card. Post verification, the new Google Pay account will be successfully set up.
[ Note: that this UPI pin is very important. You will be required to enter this PIN every time you make a transaction on the app. Do NOT share this UPI pin with anyone else ]
This trick to use two Google Pay apps in one phone must require both the SIM cards to be in the same phone.
You cannot link an account to the second Google Pay app if the SIM of the registered mobile number is another phone due to number verification. If your phone does not support the Dual apps feature, you can try using the ‘Parallel Space’ App.
How To Use Two Google Pay Apps In One Phone Using Parallel Space
Install the app, click on ‘Start’ and select the apps that you want to duplicate. A ‘Parallel Space’ window will appear on the screen, which will encompass the dual versions of the selected apps.
Again, this app might not work on all phones. We recommend using your discretion while downloading and using such external apps.
If none of these methods work for you It is better for you to have the same mobile number linked to all accounts and then add the accounts to one Google Pay App. This process is very easy and helpful.
How To Add Multiple Accounts In One Google Pay App
Instead of using two Google Pay apps in one phone, you can add multiple accounts in one Google Pay app. For this method to work, the registered mobile number in all the accounts should be the same and the number should be on your phone. Steps to add multiple bank accounts to Google Pay:
Step 1 – Open the Google Pay app and click on the three vertical dots appearing on the screen.
Step 2 – From the menu, choose Settings and then tap on ‘Payments methods’.
Step 3 – Under Payments methods, you will get the option of adding a bank account. Select ‘Add bank account’ and tap on the name of the bank that you wish to add from the given list.
[ Note: If the concerned bank is not in the list, then it cannot be added to Google Pay ]
Step 4 – Once you enter the required card details, Google Pay will send an SMS to the concerned bank for verification. After the details have been verified, you will be asked to create a separate UPI PIN for the new account. Click on ‘Create a PIN’ and enter the desired digits.
Step 5 – The bank will send an OTP on your registered mobile number after the PIN has been added. Upon verification, the new account will be added to the Google Pay App.
Follow the above steps to add multiple bank accounts to the Google Pay app on your phone. You can set any linked bank account as the primary account for receiving and sending payments via the app.
You can also check your account balance by clicking view balance and entering the UPI PIN.
